Its not the goo on the butt that can cause an obstruction, its the goo in the butt(bore) that tin cause an obstacle. I've seen rifles that had and then much that you couldn't see through the bore out to the other end.

Some people are a footling anal about gun cleaning. All I have always done with a new gun is run a couple patches down the bore to make sure there are no filings and then shoot the gun. I know lots of guys who just take a new gun out of the box and shoot it and never take whatsoever adverse effects.
This. ^^^
It's typically adept form to give a firearm a good once over before pulling the trigger on a live circular.
Whoever said a new gun has enough goo on the barrel to act equally an obstruction is

If it'southward some C&R surplus type gun, sure, possibly....just with a new, modernistic gun? No.
Its not the goo on the barrel that can cause an obstruction, its the goo in the barrel(diameter) that tin cause an obstruction. I've seen rifles that had so much that you couldn't run into through the bore out to the other cease.
That's what I meant, the lube within the butt, plain lube on the exterior isn't going to cause an obstruction.
I've lost count of how many guns I've purchased in my life, and never once was there the slightest amount of annihilation remotely obstructive in the bore/butt. Nor take I ever known anyone who's experienced that either.
I'm not sure where the guns yous say " I've seen rifles that had and then much that you couldn't see through the bore out to the other end" take come up from, but I'grand going to presume they were either used or C&R blazon guns stored in grease.
